This website is
dedicated to the men who served in or were attached to How Company,
3rd
Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division (FMF) from when it was
activated at Camp Pendleton, CA in August 1950 to March 1955 when it
was returned to and deactivated at Camp Pendleton, CA. their families and friends.
While
researching information on an uncle who served in the Marine Corps
during the Korean War, I came across an envelope in my dad's
belongings. Inside was a letter sent to my grandparents regarding my
uncle's promotion to corporal. This letter had his unit information on
it. I began digging on the internet and found what I was looking for.
One thing led to another and I soon had the opportunity to meet members
of the H-3-1 in Kansas City, Missouri. At this annual reunion, I was
also fortunate enough to meet two men who remembered him. I have also
received letters from members of the H-3-1 that included pictures of my
uncle.
I am privileged to know these men who have served their country with distinction and honor in the United States Marine Corps. Without
the sacrifice of men and women in our armed services the United States
of America would not know the freedom it does today. If you know
someone in the military or a veteran, thank him or her for their sacrifice in protecting the greatest nation on the planet!
